Well, I am a huge Ana fan and I didn't understand the Adidas deal either. In fact I was shocked by it. I really hope Ana can turn things around because she worked so hard to get here in the first place. But I really don't believe Ana is attempting to turn herself into a brand. All the off-court activites she is doing, she has been doing it her entire career but people tend to focus more so on them now and connect them with her struggles which is understandably so even though I personally find it unfair to Ana.

I still believe Ana can be a top 10 player again. Call me crazy or that blind optimism. I just still do deep in my heart.

I am all for everyone making as money as they can. But with Ivanovic, I agree that adidas may have jumped the gun too soon with her. She could end up being a big brand in Europe, but I think in America she's viewed more as "babe" than a serious player. She could turn it all around. But it's not looking likely.

As for "Masha" she'll be back in the top 10 very soon. But the other women aren't scared of her anymore. She could find the road back to another Slam, especially with Justine back, tough going.

Of course the big difference is that Masha's recent struggles are due to an extended injury lay off, whilst Ivanovic's are down to... well, her inabilities. I can see Masha coming back as long as she remains healthy, she is too good with too stronger mentality not too. Ivanovic on the other hand, looks to be a flash in the pan.

God knows why Adidas have signed her on like they have, surely that is more pressure on already weighed down shoulders?
