Update – Roddick out of ATP Finals.

November 17, 2009

The rumors became reality as Andy Roddick officially withdrew from the Barclays ATP Finals in London due to his ongoing knee injury suffered in Shanghai.

“I am really disappointed,” Roddick said. “I love playing in London and I’ve heard so many good things about the venue. However, I have not fully recovered from my knee injury and I won’t be able to compete.

“One of my goals in 2010 will be to qualify for this event again.”

Robin Soderling will now take over Roddick’s spot. The official draw will be announced tomorrow.

Saw this on Twitter but didn’t know if it was true or not…have backed Djokovic to win anyway in OLBG’s ATP tipster competition.

Yes I am disapointed as well that Andy can’t play although I really didn’t like his chances due to his lack of match play. I think it was classy of him to pull out and let Soderling have a chance to win the whole thing.
